APC Condemns Osun Govt’s Decision To Sack Iree Poly Lecturers

Osun State APC has accused the Governor Ademola Adeleke administration of destroying the present and the future of the young people in the state through its shoddy educational policies that are clearly not beneficial to the people or promote educational development in the state.
The party in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by its spokesman, Mr Kola Olabisi also said the Adeleke administration has failed to successfully carry out teacher recruitment exercise since it came into being in 2022.
‘Part of the administrative missteps of the Adeleke administration was the thoughtless and undiplomatic sack of the 1,500 teachers recruited into the state public schools by his immediate predecessor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, now Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, through an obnoxious executive order.
One would have thought that Adeleke would have a magic wand through which he would effect his own employment of the teachers within a shortest period of time in the life of his inglorious administration. But it is disheartening that the teacher recruitment issue has been in a state of inertia since then to date.
It would be recalled that during his campaign and at the inauguration of his administration about 26 months ago, Governor Adeleke declared to the whole world in his address that he would declare a state of emergency in the education sector in the state.
It is pathetic that despite the fact that some neighbouring states like Oyo and Ekiti had successfully employed new teachers more than once or twice, all the efforts of the Osun State Government to effect an ordinary recruitment of teachers into the public schools still remain a mirage for lack of not knowing what to do.
Osun State under Governor Adeleke has dashed the hopes of the applicant-teachers on so many occasions as the plight of the government in this regard has been movement without motion.
Investigation has confirmed it that so many public primary and secondary schools are short-staffed to the extent that three tutors are available for a whole school in some parts of the state.
We are of the opinion that a government like that of the one being haphazardly run by Governor Adeleke to the extent that it could not employ new teachers in the 26 months of its inauguration is not desirable to be at the helm of affairs in the state.
It was pathetically discovered that a case in point is Atakumosa-East Local Government Council, Osun State which does not have a single Physics teacher as the only teacher handling the science subject kicked the bucket a few months ago.
Just like in the other sectors in the state, Governor Adeleke administration is a monumental failure in the field of education as the impact of his negative approach to governance would be felt in the state after he might have ended his inglorious four-year tenure.
Since it is practically impossible for the Adeleke administration to equip the public schools with teachers in accordance with its earlier mantra of declaring a state of emergency in the education sector in the state, it is our submission that it would be honourable for the Peoples Democratic Party PDP-run government to return the money for purchasing the failed employment forms to the individual applicants.
We would like to sympathize with the over 400 staff of the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, who were given post-new year presents of sack letters in order to swell up the already over-saturated labour market in the state.
The excuse being advanced by the management of the school that no staff of the school was sacked was a mere afterthought and a conjecture skillfully designed to douse the tension of the inhuman and satanic hammer of the Ede emperor on the unfortunate staff of the institution who were sacked.
The excuse of the institution’s management that no staff of the school was sacked defies logic as there wouldn’t have been a directive to the sacked staff of the polytechnic that they could re-apply–Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
