APC Ward Officials Seeking To Suspend Mustapha Ishowo From Party Coz Of Arguments Over Rally Venue-Source

Secretary, Kwara state APC ,Alhaji Mustapha Ishowo was made to be in the spotlight on Monday morning following  the statement issued by  the Alanamu Central Ward exco  claiming he had been suspended from the party.

The Alanamu Central  APC Ward officials had in wielding the big stick cited alleged misuse of money and cornering of benefits  meant for party leaders and  members in the ward.

He was also declared guilty of gross misconduct.

The onslaught actually came from the home front and this was done through the  Alanamu central  APC ward chairman, Alhaji Muyideen Ikolaba,  and Secretary, Rafiu  Onigbegi, who  in a joint statement, declared  Alhaji Mustapha Ishowo suspended from the party.

‘There have been a series of protests against  Alhaji Mustapha Salman Isowo, in Alanamu Central Ward over how he has been diverting monthly allowances, palliative items and other funds meant for the party members in Alanamu Central.

The suspended  state secretary, also compiled and submitted the names of 25 persons per polling unit for the KWASSIP empowerment  programme using his influence as executive of the party at the state level without recourse to the Ward executives. 

Other offences are frequent dropping of our peace-loving governor’s name to advance his selfish and greedy agenda. 

Rather than the suspended secretary, as a member of the party at  the ward and state levels to use his  good offices to unite and assist the ward, he  has instead use his undue influence to intimidate and direct the local government party chairman to collect all the benefits due to the ward.

It must be emphasized that the entire members of Alanamu ward are completely loyal to our party APC under Prince Sunday Fagbemi’s leadership and our performing governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. 

The actions of the suspended state secretary are inimical to the expected benefits of the entire members of the ward that the state governor is trying to ameliorate.

Consequent upon all these and in accordance with our party constitution article 21 (a) paragraph 2 we hereby suspend Alhaji Mustapha Salman Isowo.

He is hereby directed to refund all the money and materials he has collected on behalf of the ward within seven days and to tender unreserved apology to the ward, otherwise further punitive measures will be taken against him’ the statement said.

Our reporters had set to work immediately after the press statement surfaced and  we had  sought to get to know what had really happened and the possible political undercurrents.

It was not only discovered that Alhaji Ishowo was right in his office  at the state APC Secretariat  carrying out his duties as at Monday afternoon  but sources also told Team@orientactualmags.com that  the suspension order may not stand the test of time.

A source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said  Ishowo and a chieftain of the party in  the state, had disagreed over campaign venue ahead of the visit of   Mallam Saliu Mustapha’s campaign team to Alanamu Ward  last week.

‘While a Chieftain of the party in Alanamu Ward wanted Isale- Aluko as campaign venue ,Ishowo had suggested  Ode Afanda  arguing that it is not only spacious  but has parking lots . Eventually it was agreed that  the Kwara Central APC senate candidate should attend separate  campaign rallies at Ode Afanda and Isale- Aluko  which he did and  apparently in reaction to this, they brought the suspension agenda.

They want to get back at him and seek to harm his reputation.

There are 27 members of exco at the Ward Level  and we should ask that who signed the suspension letter?  What about others?  Was it a majority decision? Was due process followed? 

More importantly, there must be a query letter that must be responded to before coming up with the idea of suspension, did they do all these?
