Aree Of Iree Completes Traditional Rites, Promises To Advance Development, Progress Of Iree

The Aree of Iree , Boripe North LCDA , Osun state, Oba Muritala Omotayo Oyelakin Oyekun III, has assured residents and indigenes of the town that  he will ensure advancement and progress of Iree under his reign.

A statement made available to  Team@orientactualmags.com on Monday noted that Oba Oyelakin said this while addressing his subjects and guests  during the Iwuye ceremony that officially signified that he has assumed the throne as  the 16th Aree of Iree after completion of the traditional rites.

‘Today, we have birthed a new Iree where development of nook and cranny will take centre stage’ he said.

The statement added that the Iwuye ceremony which is the first of its kind since decades of existence of the ancient city of Iree attracted dignitaries from within and outside the shores of Nigeria.

‘Iree as a big town, needs to explore its tourism opportunities.  The  7 hills in our ancestral home are enough to earn our community big money’ he added.

Oba Oyelakin also urged residents and indigenes of the community to support his vision of turning Iree into a one-stop tourism attraction centre.

He said: ‘We can build gardens and recreational parks around the hills to explore the full potential of the community.

I’m not here as a king to simply dominate, acquire wealth, or make names. I’m here to take my dear Iree to enviable heights, heights that our forefathers envisaged making Iree stand out in Yoruba land such that all of us will be cherished and want to be identified with anywhere in the world.

The journey to develop Iree has started. In no time companies will be surfacing in Iree not only in the tourism sector but other sectors of the economy that will fast-track growth and development.

Jobs will be plenty such that no more will  our indigenes search for jobs’ Oba Oyelakin submitted.

The statement added that a team of government officials had since visited the town to inspect one of the roads and the palace ahead of rehabilitation works
