Award Grant 1.0 Programme: HAM Foundation Flags Off Disbursement Of Grant To 500 Beneficiaries In Kwara 

The HAM Foundation officially began grant disbursements to beneficiaries of the ‘Manko 1.0 Grant Award’ programme on Wednesday, November 13,  2024.

 ‘This prestigious event marks a significant milestone in the foundation’s ongoing commitment to supporting educational progression.

The Manko 1.0 Grant Award empowers deserving students, in order to foster excellence in education. This initiative reinforces HAM Foundation’s dedication to motivating and supporting students in their academic pursuit’ a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by Omomeji Nafisat quoted a staff of the Foundation, Mr. Mustapha Mayaki as saying.

 In her keynote speech,  Mrs Memunat Mamzuma , who is the North Central Regional

Coordinator of UNDP/ NJFP, emphasized the importance of supporting educational progression and its impact on the development of ‘our immediate community and society at large’.

 She urged the beneficiaries to remain committed to their studies with positive attitude and strive to achieve academic excellence.

The programme featured activities that include grant disbursements and goodwill messages. 

 

Dignitaries at the event include representatives from the National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKSS) headquarters and presidents of the local chapters of  the association in Unilorin, Kwasu, COED, Al-Hikma, Kwara Poly, and KWASCOM,  representatives from the National Association of Nupe Students, Federation of Kwara North students, Lafiagi Descendants Union, Patigi Development Union, Moro Development Union, Baruten Patriotic Agenda, Coalition of Kwara North group among others.

‘HAM Foundation remains committed to improving lives in our communities through initiatives in Education (sponsoring WAEC, NECO and JAMB at the senior secondary school level, BECE at Junior Secondary School level and Common Entrance Examination fee support at the Primary School level), Agricultural Development, Health and Well-being, Water Outreaches, as well as Technological and Digital Economy progression, thus, driving positive change and socio-economic development’ the statement added.

The beneficiaries of the Phase 1 of the ‘Manko 1.0 Grant Award’ programme are 500 people consisting of 100 students each from Kaiama, Baruten, Patigi, Moro and Edu local governments respectively. 

The Foundation also noted that Manko 2.0 and 3.0 which will represent Phase 2 and Phase 3 will have students from Kwara Central and Kwara South as beneficiaries.

‘The support is to also complement government efforts in respect of its social protection policy through private individuals’ partnership to give back to society.

The Foundation has granted full scholarships to 11 young people who will attend the School of Nursing and Midwifery and also receive N10,000 as monthly allowance. 

HAM Foundation is also set to pay WAEC and NECO examination fees for 300 students’ the statement noted.
