Baba Ijesha’s Name Now Included In Sex Offenders Register-Lagos Govt

A popular actor, Olanrewaju James aka Baba Ijesha, who regained his freedom after serving out his prison term last week, has had his name included in the sex offenders register, Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, has submitted.

 Recall that on July 14, 2022, the Lagos State High Court had convicted Baba Ijesha of sexual assault and indecent treatment of a child over incidents that occurred in 2021, and he got a 5-year sentence and a 3-year sentence that were made to run concurrently.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency in an X.com post on Sunday, said Baba Ijesha did not regain his freedom after his conviction was vacated via a Court of Appeal ruling as claimed by some social media users but was rather left off the hook after serving out his prison term.

The agency added that ‘In line with Section 37 of the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency Law 2021, his name has been duly entered into the Lagos State Sex Offenders Register.

This measure supports ongoing efforts to protect minors, strengthen accountability and ensure that accurate information is available to the public’.
