Badaru Abubakar Resigns As Defence Minister, Cites Ill Health
Former governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar Badaru, who became a member of President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet on August 21, 2023, and was asked to oversee the Ministry of Defence, has resigned from his position.
This had come shortly after the visit of retired General Christopher Musa to the Presidential Villa on Monday.
Musa was until October 24, 2025, the Chief of General Staff.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Alhaji Abubakar Badaru, who made his resignation letter available to presidency on Monday, cited ill health.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has accepted his resignation while thanking him for his service to the nation, the president’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, submitted in a statement on Monday night.
