Balogun Ajikobi Laid To Rest In Ilorin…Gov Abdulrazaq, Saraki Offer Condolences

The Balogun Ajikobi of Ilorin, Alhaji Isiaka Yusuf Okunrije, has been laid to rest in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital..

Alhaji Isiaka Yusuf Okunrije, who died on Sunday, was the 12th Balogun Ajikobi of Ilorin.

Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Solihu presided over the janazah prayer held for him at the Balogun Ajikobi Compound, Ilorin on Sunday.

Governor  Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has mourned the passing of Alhaji Isiaka Yusuf Okunrinjeje noting that he was a remarkable statesman who had proudly projected the beauty, culture, and virtues of the Ilorin Emirate at all times.

The governor commiserated with the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the Ilorin Emirate Council, and the family of the late Balogun Ajikobi.

Governor Abdulrazaq asked God to ease the account of the late Balogun Ajikobi, admit him to al-jannah Firdaus, and uphold his family upon goodness.

 President of the 8th Senate, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has also described the death of Alhaji Isiaka Yusuf as a personal loss, and a big loss to the Emirate and Kwara State as a whole. 

Saraki described the late Balogun Ajikobi as a father figure whose love and advice impacted individuals and society. 

He noted that the 12th Balogun Ajikobi will be remembered for his leadership prowess, community service, and preservation of traditional heritage. 

Saraki, who is the Waziri Ngeri of the Ilorin Emirate, commiserated with the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the Ilorin Emirate and the family of the deceased traditional leader. 

‘The death of the 12th Balogun Ajikobi of Ilorin Emirate, Alhaji Isiaka Yusuf Okunriji, is a personal loss to me, a big loss for the Emirate and Kwara at large.

The late Baba was a father figure whose fatherly role, love and advice were invaluable to many.

We take solace in his good deeds to humanity, our Emirate and the state’ he said.
