Battle For 2027 Begins As Ganduje Resigns As APC National Chairman

Battle For 2027 Begins As Ganduje Resigns As APC National Chairman

APC National Chairman, Alhaji Abdulahi Ganduje, has resigned from his position.

The 75-year-old politician, cited health reasons for his decision adding that he needs to focus on his well-being.

He has followed in the footsteps of his immediate predecessor, Alhaji Abdulahi Adamu, who resigned from his position in July 2023.

Alhaji Abdulahi Ganduje, who served as governor of Kano State from 2015 to 2023, had the Kano State High Court ordering him to stop parading himself as APC National Chairman on April 17, 2024, while Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja, however dismissed the suit seeking his removal on September 23, 2024.

All these belonged to the past as he has voluntarily called it quit.

Sources told Team@orientactualmags.com that although Ganduje may have made it look like he resigned voluntarily he was however rather faced with a fait accompli.

He reportedly dared to swim in a troubled ocean which has now ‘consumed’ him.

The former Kano State governor had reportedly gotten involved in the political intrigue and political scheming that have to do with the party’s 2027 ‘presidential ticket’.

Recall that the reported plans to have Vice President Kashim Shettima replaced in 2027 had become a topical issue and the names of those likely to replace him are already being mentioned.

It was gathered that Ganduje played a role that made him earn the odium of the Vice President ,but it was not clear if the former Kano State governor was asking the stakeholders to consider his candidacy and support him to emerge as vice presidential candidate or support his nominee.

The drama had begun with Ganduje getting attacked at the ‘stakeholder meeting’ held by the party in Gombe on June 16, 2025, while Vice President Shetima also snubbed him during the reception  held in honour of Governor Umo Eno last week Saturday-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
