Benue Assembly Suspends Former Speaker Hyacinth Dajoh For 3 Months, Reverses His Decisions

Benue State House of Assembly on Tuesday suspended Hon Hyacinth Aondona Dajoh for three months for allegedly attempting to impeach Governor Hyacinth Alia.

Recall that Hon Hyacinth Aondona Dajoh resigned as Speaker of the state house of assembly on Sunday.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Hon Dajoh’s suspension was sequel to the motion moved by Hon Terna Shimawua, who represents Kyan State Constituency, during the plenary session held in Markurdi on Tuesday while it was seconded by James Umoru (Apa State Constituency) .

 Speaker Alfred Berger, who ruled on the motion, however reduced Dajoh’s suspension from six to three months.

Hon Hyacinth Aondona Dajoh’s decisions were also reversed as a cabinet nominee who had earlier failed confirmation screening, Timothy Yangien Ornguga got ‘cleared’ by the parliament.

Ornguga is a lecturer at the Benue State University.

The new Speaker while reading out a letter from Governor Alia on Tuesday declared five more nominees including Ornguga ‘cleared’.

Although, it was noted that there were petitions submitted against Ornguga and another nominee, James Dwem, it was however clarified that they were never convicted of any crime.
