Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor Wahab Egbewole has asked members of the public to beware of fake social media accounts noting that he does not even have one.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Thursday advised members of the public to avoid being made to part with their hard-earned money.
‘The management of the University of Ilorin is hereby alerting members of the public to the latest antics of scammers, using fictitious social media accounts created in the name of our Vice -Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, SAN, with the sole aim of conning them into parting with their hard-earned money.
These rogues have used fake social media accounts on platforms like WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Messenger to make all sorts of demands from members of the public, ostensibly in the name of the Vice- Chancellor.
For the avoidance of doubt, Prof. Egbewole does not operate on any of those social media platforms.
