Beware Of Imposters, I’m Not Involved In Planned Kwara South Summit-Johnson Adewumi
A prominent indigene of Kwara State, Chief Johnson Adewumi, has clarified that he has nothing to do with the planned Kwara South Summit which is scheduled to hold in Ajase-Ipo, Irepodun local government, Kwara State, on December 28, 2024.

Professor Olusegun Elegbede in a statement issued in Ilorin and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that Dr Adewumi ,who is the Chancellor of Kwara State University, Malete, and the Chancellor and Founder of Thomas Adewunmi University, Oko, has no connection with the planned summit and should therefore not be dragged into such a thing.
‘The attention of Engr, Dr. Chief Johnson Adewumi, Asiwaju of Oko Irese, has been drawn to an invitation card circulating in respect of a purported Kwara South Summit that he is supposed to Chair in Ajase- Ipo, Irepodun Local Government, Kwara State on December 28, 2024.
Dr. Adewumi has not been consulted and he is definitely not aware of any Summit with the Theme: ‘A New Dawn In Kwara Quest For Equity, Fairness and Justice: Kwara South For Kwara North 2027 Agenda’.
Dr. Adewumi does not know the organizers of the Summit in question and not only is he not chairing any such summit, he will, actually not attend the event.
For the avoidance of doubt, Dr. Adewumi is the Convener of the Kwara South Development Initiative ( KSDI) which is a registered Special Purpose Vehicle for the socio-economic development of Kwara South.
KSDI has organized three summits – two in Oko and one in Abuja a few days ago .
The Governor of Kwara State , His Excellency, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON who supports the initiatives of KSDI was represented at the first summit in Oko two years ago by the Deputy Governor , His Excellency, Kayode Alabi. The Kwara Governor also personally delivered a Goodwill message virtually at the third summit in Abuja .
Finally , again, for the record, Dr. Adewumi was neither consulted nor informed before and after he was listed in the invitation card as Chairman of the proposed Summit in Ajase-Ipo.
Further summits by KSDI are planned as the organization continues to promote its development agenda in Kwara South but the summit in circulation has nothing to do with KSDI and Dr. JBO Adewumi’ the statement added-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
