Boat Mishap: Gov Bagudu Pays Condolence Visit To Samanaji

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has expressed deep sadness over the recent boat mishap that led to loss of lives in Samanaji town , Koko Besse local Government,  Kebbi state.

The Governor, who paid a condolence visit to Samanaji community on Thursday, commiserated with the people of the community particularly the families of those who lost their lives in the accident.

Bagudu’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Thursday that the governor was accompanied by top public   officials including the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami,SAN, former Governor of Kebbi state, Alhaji Saidu Nasamu Dakingari, who is also the Director General of the state APC Campaign Council,  APC gubernatorial candidate ,Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, the Speaker Kebbi state House of Assembly, Muhammadu Sani Abubakar Lolo ,some members of the National  assembly  from the state and members of the State House of Assembly, Commissioners and local Government Chairmen .

The delegation prayed for those who lost their lives and the recovery of the missing passengers.

 Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu beseeched God to admit the dead victims  into Aljannah Firdausi and also commended the efforts of those who had rendered assistance and played a role in the rescue operation.

‘ Iam here with a top delegation to condole with you over the unfortunate boat mishap.

 We pray  God to forgive all who lost their lives and we pray for the recovery of the missing ones’  he said.

The governor however  warned boat operators to always respect the rules, avoid night operations and desist from overloading passengers .

Earlier, the District Head of Dutsinmari, Alhaji MuAllayidi Usman while thanking the Governor for the condolence visit said the boat accident had so far claimed four lives while twelve passengers were still missing.

The Chairman of Koko Besse local Government , Hon. Yahaya Bello also thanked the governor for the visit .

He acknowledged the concern of the governor for the people of the area during trying times.

He also told the governor that a delegation from HYPADEC were in the local Government to offer their condolences.

The Council Chairman said search and rescue operation was still ongoing in the area, with four dead bodies already recovered .

 APC gubernatorial candidate, Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu later donated five million naira to the families of the deceased.
