Bobrisky Finally Embraces Maleness After Being In Denial For Nearly A Decade, Gets 6-Month Sentence
After many years of being a transgender woman and a LGBT personality, Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye, popularly called Bobrisky, finally embraced maleness when he appeared before Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court , Lagos on Friday.
This has ended his many years of being in denial.
Though the then Director General of National Council for Arts and Culture, Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, had in 2019 called Bobrisky ‘a national disgrace’ and said he would be ‘dealt with ruthlessly’ if seen on the streets, Okuneye however shocked all when he disclosed on July 8 , 2021, that he has gotten a new physical appearance and has become more feminine after undergoing surgery.
He had voluntarily denied the existence of his ‘natural pipe’.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Justice Abimbola had asked Bobrisky to state his gender and he had emphatically confirmed his maleness.
The judge had posed a question to him; ‘Are you a man or a woman? and Bobrisky responded, ‘I am a man’.
Bobrisky later got a 6-month sentence for abusing the naira and it was without an option of a fine.
Justice Awogboro noted that the judgment would be a deterrent to others who are found of abusing and mutilating the naira while adding that the jail term would start from March 24, 2024, when he was arrested.
Bobrisky will serve his jail term at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre.
Bobrisky’s father, Mr. Kunle Okuneye , who is an indigene of Ijebu-Igbo , Ogun state, died in August last year.
Recall that Bobrisky had on April 5, 2024, pleaded guilty after charges were read out to him.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had filed charges against Bopbrisky and accused him of tampering with the sum of N400,000 by spraying the same while dancing during the social event held at the IMAX Circle Mall, Lekki, Lagos on March 24, 2024.
The offence is contrary to and punishable under Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act 2007.
Bobrisky had also between July and August 2023 at Aja Junction, Ikorodu, tampered with another sum of N50,000 by spraying the same at a social event.
Bobrisky was also accused of spraying and tampering with another sum of N20,000 in December 2023 at White Steve Event Hall, Ikeja .
