Political thugs made a vicious and unprovoked attack on the Ibadan residence of a prominent politician in Oyo State, Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi on Saturday leaving ten people injured and vehicles vandalized.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the political thugs launched the attack while Gbolarumi and other members of his faction were making preparations for the PDP state congress.

Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarunmi, who served as Deputy Governor of Oyo State for one year under late Chief Alao Akala, heads a faction of the state PDP that is loyal to the Minister of FCT, Barrister Nyesom Wike.
Reacting to the incident, spokesman for the state police command, Olayinka Ayanlade said the attack had nothing to do with the party’s state congress while disclosing that an investigation has been launched into the incident.
‘A yet-to-be-identified hoodlums launched an attack on the residence of the former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Hazeem Gbolarumi. The coordinated attacks have nothing to do with the state congress’ Ayandele said.
‘At least ten people sustained injuries during the violence, while several vehicles were damaged at various locations across the state’ chairman of the faction, Mr Abdulrahman Akinoso, however submitted while adding that the party members had gathered at Gbolarumi’s residence on Are Avenue in the Bodija area of Ibadan for the state congress before the uninvited people struck.
In the meanwhile, PDP stakeholders in Ogbomosho have warned those who are planning to produce parallel executives in the town and other parts of the state to desist from doing so while asserting that the PDP structure in the state remains united under Governor Seyi Makinde’s leadership.
‘We are aware of the clandestine move by some elements to hold a congress and inaugurate factional executive members in Ogbomoso and other parts of the state.
We are solidly loyal to Governor Seyi Makinde’s leadership and will not accept any form of factional executive in the state’ they submitted-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
