Chairmanship: Kebbi PDP Rejects Tanimu Turaki’s Candidacy, Says He’s Unpopular At Home
Kebbi State PDP has declared its opposition against the adoption of former Minister of Special Duties, Tanimu Turaki, as the Northern consensus candidate for National Chairman ahead of the party’s National Convention.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that leaders of the party in the state took this decision during an emergency meeting held in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday submitting that the state chapter was neither consulted nor in support of the decision reportedly taken by some PDP governors from the region.
The State Publicity Secretary of the party, Alhaji Sani Dododo in a communiqué read out to journalists in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday said Kebbi State PDP stands firmly with the position of the Northwest PDP stakeholders who had earlier rejected the purported endorsement.
‘At no time, not a day, not a minute, not even a second, did Kabiru Tanimu visit Kebbi to consult with any stakeholder, leader, or elder of our party. He has never informed us of his intention to contest, nor has he contributed to party activities in the state.
The Kebbi State chapter, therefore, totally rejects the decision to adopt the former minister as the Northern consensus candidate.
