Channels TV Programme: Iyiola Oyedepo Made Correct Assertions…We Feel Vindicated-Kwara PDP
Kwara State PDP submitted on Tuesday that Chief Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo made correct assertions while appearing on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme a few days ago, during which he ‘expressly declared that the APC/Otoge administration headed by Governor Abdulrazaq has failed the people of Kwara’.
The party in a statement issued in Ilorin and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by the State Publicity Secretary, Mr Olusegun Olusola Adewara said the PDP feels vindicated that such a ‘Vote of No Confidence’ in the APC-led administration is coming from the calibre of Chief Akogun , a frontline Otoge crusader.
The party added that ‘it is a validation of PDP’s consistent position that Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq is running Kwara government like a Bet9ja Kiosk’

We recognize Chief Akogun Oyedepo’s boldness in exposing the governor’s reckless plundering of public funds on ventures that serve little or no benefit to the good people of Kwara State. His stance in acknowledging the misplaced priorities, rising poverty, and deteriorating state of public infrastructure under the Otoge administration aligned with the minds of average Kwarans who are utterly disappointed since 2019.
Kwarans will recall that Chief Akogun Oyedepo, who spearheaded the Otoge campaign and formulated several false narratives against the PDP-led administrations of Dr. Bukola Saraki and Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, has now realized the disservice he and his fellow comrades have done to the people of Kwara State. Their calumny campaign, which was riddled with propaganda, promised Kwarans better governance and financial prosperity, including claims that civil servants would earn more than their counterparts in neighboring states.
Nearly six years after the Otoge administration took power, the reality is a far cry from these promises. With monthly FAAC allocations now averaging between N8 billion and N10 billion—there is little to show for it. Public schools and Government Hospitals in Kwara State have become shanties, with students sitting on bare floors in classrooms, while the civil service structure is collapsing due to mismanagement. Corruption has reached unprecedented levels, with appointees of the Governor confessing ignorance about how major contracts are awarded.
It is now public knowledge that contracts for critical infrastructure projects, such as road construction, are being awarded as political patronage to defectors from the PDP to the APC. Consequently, the quality of these projects has been compromised, with roads already deteriorating within three months of construction. The Abdulrazaq administration has not only failed to meet the promises made by his party ,APC, but has also plunged the state into deeper economic woes with Poverty levels now risen astronomically, from 14% in 2019 to about 45% in 2024.

In the light of these observations and great revelations coming from the horse’s mouth, we urge all well-meaning Kwarans, irrespective of past political affiliations, to join hands with the PDP in rescuing our state from the current state of despair.
