Christmas: Christian Community Receives 3 Truckloads Of Rice From Kebbi Govt As Police Widows, Others Get 1,000 Bags of Rice

In the spirit of inclusivity and in order to ensure a happy Christmas celebration, Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has donated 1,100 bags of rice to widows of Army and Police officers in the state.

 The Igbo community in the state was also among the beneficiaries.

The governor’s Special Adviser on Special Duties and Chairman of the five-member committee overseeing the distribution of the commodity, Hon. Shafiu Zauro disclosed this in a statement he issued in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com .

Hon. Zauro  noted that 300 bags of rice each were allocated to both the widows of Army and Police officers, 300 bags to the Igbo community, and 200 bags to the Correctional Service for distribution to inmates.

To ensure transparency and accountability, Governor Idris has set up a five-member committee headed by Hon. Zauro, with Alhaji Nasir Kigo, the Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Office, serving as Secretary.

Hon. Zauro commended Governor Idris for the kind gesture, describing this as a compassionate action to put a smile on  the faces of the beneficiaries during this festive season.

Hajiya Asmau, leader of the Army widows, expressed gratitude to Governor Idris for his fatherly care, saying that the gesture of goodwill has made their Christmas celebration joyous.

 Similarly, representatives of the Igbo community pledged their support and also prayed for the success of the Kauran Gwandu administration.

Dr. Nasir Idris has also donated three truckloads of rice to the Christian community to ensure a happy Christmas celebration.

The  governor’s Special Adviser on Christian Affairs, Dr. Samuel Audu Dabai disclosed this during the press conference he presided over in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday.

Dr. Dabai acknowledged the governor’s consistent support for the Christian community, especially during festive seasons in order to ensure that they celebrate the yuletide in joy and harmony with their families.

He assured that the rice would be distributed across the southern part of the state, where the Christian population is mostly concentrated in order to reach the target beneficiaries.
