The new Olojudo of Ido Osun, Oba Olayinka Oyetunde Ishola on Tuesday visited the Timi of Edeland, Oba Muniru Adesola Lawal at his palace with both monarchs stating commitment to peace, unity, development and progress of their respective communities and Osun State as a whole.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that top chiefs from the two communities were at Timi’s palace and the monarchs have promised to strengthen the long-standing ties of unity and cooperation between the two communities.
The Timi of Ede recalled the historical cord of unity between the two towns and welcomed the visit of the Ido Osun monarch as ‘a signal of a new positive beginning’.
According to the Ede Monarch, who is the paramount ruler of Edeland comprising Ede South, Ede North and Egbedore local governments, the visit by Olojudo shows and affirms his peace loving nature.
Stating his commitment to ensuring development and progress of Ede land and its environs, the traditional ruler expressed happiness that the dualisation of Akoda to Oke Gada road project is to proceed under phase two to Ido Osun through Ofatedo and Osogbo.
“I commend the state governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke for introducing an infrastructure upgrade which covers all towns and villages without discrimination or sectionalisation. We look forward to the completion of phase two of the ongoing dualisation project’ he said.
Speaking earlier, Oba Olayinka Oyetunde Ishola said his visit to the Timi’s palace is aimed at reestablishing the cord of unity and brotherhood that had suffered some strains in recent times, declaring that ‘I am a monarch who is for peace, unity and development’.
‘Ede and Ido Osun are one. We are one people under God and man. I am in this palace to pledge our unalloyed loyalty to our common heritage in need of continued development. I am here to assure the public at home and abroad that Ede and Ido Osun are one people.
We are not fighting. We are united for the progress of our communities. From now onward, we will tap into each other’s strengths and correct each other’s weaknesses for our mutual good.
I commend our chiefs and elders. I am for peace and my reign is for peace. I want development for my people, and I believe the government of the day is committed to lifting our people out of under development’ he said-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
