Controversy Imminent As Social Media Users Debate Original Owner Of Song Title Between K1 And Davido

Popular hip hop act, Mr David Adeleke aka Davido and the Maiyegun of Yoruba land, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Marshal ‘K1’ had their fans getting engaged in arguments on social media over who was the original owner of ‘Timeless’ – a song title.
While Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde had named his 49th album ‘Timeless’, Davido had also on March 31, 2023, dropped his fourth studio album ‘Timeless’ with guest appearances from Nigerian artists including Asake, Fave, The Cavemen and DMW’s latest additions, Morravey and Logos Olori.
Apart from the fact that the song titles are the same, the two had also surfaced almost at the same time.
K1’s album would be released on the 14th of April, he has also announced an album pre-order sale on Apple Music like Davido had done.
Some social media users had since accused Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde of seeking to ride on the popularity of Davido’s album to ‘market’ his own while some like an instagram user with username @papilon101 were uncouth.
‘Agbaya wan use Davido album title promote him album after dem go say wetin old man wey sit down dey see small pikin wey climb tree no fit see am’ he wrote.
In a telephone interview with Team@orientactualmags.com on Friday night, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde’s publicist, Mr Kunle Rasheed said the popular Fuji musician would not like to be dragged into a controversy that ‘is needless and unnecessary’.
He added that though K1 had come up with the song title months ago which was done one piece at a time and even had him singing the praises of the founder of Salvation Proclaimers Anointed Church (SPAC Nation) , Pastor Tobi Adegboyega in one of such, he was however willing to just allow the matter rest and avoid unneeded controversy – Team@orientactualmags.com
