Convocation Ceremony: Unilorin VC Commends Governor AbdulRazaq For Taking Steps To Open Tanke Flyover To Motorists For 8 Days
The Vice- Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has commended the governor of Kwara state, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for issuing directives to relevant government functionaries to open the Tanke Flyover bridge to motorists from Monday, October 16th, 2023, to 23rd October, 2023 in order to ensure a seamless traffic on the University Road .
The university’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kunle Akogun in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Friday night noted that this was sequel to the solicitation letter earlier sent to the governor by the university management.
The statement quoted the VC as noting that he got to know about the governor’s directives through his interactions with some top state government officials.
The flyover bridge project in question which has though been taken to completion is yet to be officially inaugurated.
The Vice- Chancellor added that the directives in question would greatly facilitate vehicular movement during the university’s forthcoming Convocation ceremonies scheduled to hold on Friday, 20th, Saturday, 21st, and Monday, October 23, 2023.
Prof. Egbewole also expressed gratitude to the governor for promising to repair potholes on the University Road up to the institution’s Main Gate before October 20.
The Vice- Chancellor pointed out that the promptness with which Mallam AbdulRazaq responded to the University management’s appeal has marked him out as a listening governor.
