Corps Member Donates Toilet Facility To Kwara Community
Onikanga community in Ilorin South Local Government, Kwara State witnessed a moment of pride and transformation on Monday following the inauguration of the Ceejay Community Personal Development Project.
The project called ‘Promoting Hygiene and Community Well-Being through the Renovation and Modernization of the Public Toilet Facility in Onikanga Village’ was initiated and executed by a serving corps member, Adeyeye Joshua Adejare, who is popularly called Ceejay.
He has done this under the NYSC’s Community Development Service (CDS).
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that the project was inaugurated on Monday, October 27, 2025, during a short ceremony that attracted key guests and dignitaries, including the Local Government Inspector (LGI), Mr. Oluwaseyi; CDS Officer, Mrs. Joseph; representatives from the NYSC State Secretariat led by Mr. Niyemel Samuel; media practitioners, corps members, and residents of Onikanga village.

Ceejay, in his speech, appreciated the support received from his sponsors, the NYSC officials, and the community, emphasizing the importance of teamwork, discipline, and the need to maintain good relationship at a Place of Primary Assignment (PPA).
He expressed gratitude to his Local Government Inspector, the CDS officer, and the representatives of the state coordinator for their continued guidance and encouragement.
Mallam Abdulakeem Ahmed Lawal, who spoke on behalf of Onikanga community, commended the young corps member’s selfless effort, describing the initiative as a sign of renewed hope and progress for the village.
Highlights of the event include delivery of a poem by Miss Tobiloba, which centered on service, resilience, and the values of the NYSC scheme.
Delivering his remarks, Mr. Niyemel Samuel, who represented the State Coordinator of NYSC, lauded the project and commended media organizations and other stakeholders for supporting the initiative while noting that personal CDS projects like the one initiated by Ceejay reflect the true spirit of community development and the objectives of the NYSC scheme.
He further praised Ceejay’s dedication and encouraged other corps members to emulate his passion for community service.
