Corps Member Who Criticized President Tinubu On Social Media Didn’t Get Service Extension As Alleged-NYSC

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has described as untrue social media posts claiming that a corps member serving in Lagos State, Rita  Uguamaye, who criticized the President Bola Tinubu administration a few weeks ago, has been given a service extension

Recall that Uguamaye had, in a viral video made available on her TikTok account, @talktoraye, expressed frustration over Nigeria’s worsening economic conditions, lamenting the high inflation and economic hardship.

Uguamaye had also criticized the president by describing him as a ‘terrible leader’ while questioning the government’s efforts to alleviate the hardship faced by the citizens.

She also described Lagos State as a ‘smelling state’ and lamented its ‘poor living conditions’.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that acting Director, Press and Public Relations, NYSC, Carol Embu, who denied the allegations that Rita has had her ‘service year’ extended, noted that the decision to extend a corps member’s service year is made when such a person is about to attend the passing out ceremony.

 ‘Who is Sowore? Does he work with the NYSC? So, how come you are listening to him? I don’t understand how she will get an extension if she is still serving.

NYSC is not an irresponsible organization; we work with rules and regulations.
