Court Grants Bail To Woman Accused Of Sending Threatening Message To Lizzy Anjorin’s Husband

A woman, Folashade Olalude,  who was arrested by the police and currently being prosecuted for cyber bullying, has been granted bail by Ebute-Metta Chief Magistrate Court .

Folashade was accused of sending threatening message to a businessman, Alhaji Lawal Abdullateef.

The woman, , who was brought  before Chief Magistrate Oluwatosin Fowowe-Erusiafe, is facing charges  bordering on conspiracy, intent to steal, cyberbullying and threatening to kill..

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the prosecutor, Mr. Henry Obiazi, told the court that the defendant and others now at large, between  2015 and 2022, conspired among themselves to commit the alleged offences.

Obiazi added that Folashade, with an intent to steal, demanded over N5 million, on different occasions from  Alhaji Lawal Abdullateef, while threatening to  publish his name on the Internet as a fraudster or use bloggers’ websites to defame his character and the reputation of his wife,  a movie star, Lizzy Anjorin, if the demands are not met.

He also told the court that the defendant had, sometime in October 2023, written a letter to the businessman, threatening to kill him, adding that Folashade equally sent the same threatening message to Abdullateef’s phone, these offences , he noted,  contravened Sections 411, 301, and 232 of the Criminal Law of Lagos state 2015.

Folashade however  pleaded not guilty to the charges and  the prosecutor had consequently urged the court to remand her in a custodial facility.

The defendant’s lawyer, I. S. Ijenkeri, pleaded with the court to admit her to bail in the most liberal terms, submitting that the charges against her are bailable.

Magistrate Fowowe-Ersiafe, in her ruling, granted bail to the defendant  in the sum of N200,000, with two sureties in like sum.

The Magistrate added that Folashade should  be remanded in the Kirikiri female section of the NCS facility until she  meets the bail conditions.
