Court Invalidates Ghandi Olaoye’s Appointment As Soun Of Ogbomosho

A development that was recorded on Wednesday must have greatly unsettled the new Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Olaoye.

Recall that his nomination  as Soun-elect was  approved by Governor Seyi Makinde on September 2, 2023, and he was installed by the kingmakers on September 8, 2023 .

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Oyo state High Court , Ogbomoso, however  on Wednesday voided Ghandi Olaoye’s appointment as Soun of Ogbomoso.

The presiding judge, Justice K.A. Adedokun, nullified  Ghandi Olaoye’s appointment as Soun of Ogbomosho while ruling on an ex-parte motion filed by Kabir Olaoye,

Kabir Olaoye had contended that  due process was not followed  and the Ogbomoso Chieftaincy Declaration was not complied with in choosing Ghandi as new Soun of Ogbomosho.

Justice K.A. Adedokun has ordered a fresh selection process.

The  Ogbomoso throne had become vacant sequel to the demise of Oba Jimoh Oyewumi Ajagungbade III, in December 2021.

The selection process had recorded a hitch when  the Chairman of the Screening Committee for the Laoye ruling house, Abdulwahab Laoye, said the family had not selected anybody to fill the then vacant  throne dismissing as mere insinuations, social media report that someone had been nominated for the obaship position-Team@orientactualmags.com
