Court Says Septuagenarian Who Killed School Proprietor In Ondo Should Get Executed By Hanging
A 78-year-old man, Ojo Komolafe, is now on death row. Ojo, who was accused of killing a school proprietor, Taofik Babalola, had murder charges preferred against him two years ago.
Babalola was sleeping in Kajola, Odigbo Local Government , Ondo state on August 7, 2021 when Ojo shot him dead.
He was later arrested and taken into custody by the police.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Justice Adeyemi Fasanmi of the state high court held that the prosecution proved its case beyond reasonable doubt and that there was direct evidence that linked the convict to the scene of the crime as well as being responsible for Babalola’s death.
‘It is my finding that the defendant caused Babalola’s death by shooting him with a gun at a close range, which subsequently led to his death. The defendant was also seen fleeing the place of the crime.
On the whole, I find the defendant guilty of the two counts as charged. You (the defendant) are hereby sentenced to be hanged by the neck until you die in the first count and seven years imprisonment for the second count’ he said-Team@orientactualmags.com
