Day 2 : Protesting Oyo Workers Assault ‘Unwilling’ Colleagues In Ibadan

Protesting members of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC , Oyo state chapter, brought movements and activities at the State Secretariat, Agodi , Ibadan to a standstill as their ongoing protests entered day two on Tuesday.
It was gathered that some civil servants who had ignored the directives of the labour union to join them in hitting the streets were beaten and chased out of their offices.
A civil servant was reportedly injured in the process.

Workers were denied entry into the State Secretariat , Ibadan on Tuesday.
The protesting workers carried placards with inscriptions that include ‘We want to meet with the Governor and not his representative’ and ‘Our full salary is not enough for our transportation to our workplace ’.
Governor Seyi Makinde’s Special Adviser on Labour Matters, Adebayo Titilola-Sodo, said the state chief executive remains committed to workers’ welfare submitting that the protests were unnecessary as the government was already looking into what the labour unions demanded-Team@orientactualmags.com
