
The development recorded at the Gateway Polytechnic, Ode-Remo, Ogun state, last week Wednesday, has unsettled the polytechnic community.
Team@orientactualmags.comlearned that the death of an admission seeker and two students at the institution had created tension in the polytechnic and questions are being asked with probable answers involuntarily provided.
It was gathered that the bodies of the three young men ;Bakare Habbeb, ND2 ,Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Odu Selen, ND1, Department of Mass Communication, and Hameed, an admission seeker were discovered at their residence last week Wednesday, July 12.
They had reportedly complained of stomach ache after eating spaghetti.
A joint statement by president of the Students’ Union , Olatunji Idowu Alexander, and the PRO, Tanimowo Joel confirmed the incident and noted that investigations are underway.
‘It is with great grief in our heart that the Students’ Union Government (SUG) announces the passing of three of our students in an incident overnight.
We share the management of the Institution’s pain, ditto families, and all well-wishers sequel to this unpleasant incident.
As much as the cause of their death remains unknown as at the time of this release, we assure the public a well-detailed investigation that will get to the root of the matter, come what may’.
The police have however said the deceased persons died from suspected carbon monoxide poisoning.
‘According to information received from DPO Ode Remo, the three victims died as a result of generator fume, their corpses have been released to their parents.
