Declaring Raheem Olawuyi Winner Of Reps Election ‘Wrong’ Coz APC Has No Legally Qualified Candidate-Dare Bankole

Engineer Dare Bankole , who was the PDP candidate for the 2023 Isin/Oke-Ero/Irepodun/Ekiti House of Representatives election , has rejected the election results announced by   the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) while asserting that  there was no basis to  have declared the APC candidate, Hon Raheem Olawuyi Ajulo Opin as winner of the election in the first place.

It will be recalled that the presidential, senate and reps elections were held in the country on Saturday.

Bankole in a statement made available  to Team@orientactualmags.com  on Monday also alleged that the election was fraught with irregularities including over voting, vote buying  and voter intimidation.

 The statement noted that after carefully studying the election results, it was realized that the election results announced by INEC didn’t  reflect the votes and the wishes of the Isin/Oke-Ero/Irepodun/Ekiti people.

Bankole, who expressed gratitude to electors in the federal constituency for their huge support during the exercise,  noted that apart from the fact that the APC did not have a legally-backed representation on the ballot ,the irregularities recorded  cannot also  be ignored.

He has therefore announced plans to take a legal action and do the needful to reclaim his mandate.

‘We are not unaware of the decision of the apex court in the suit involving  Engineer C.O Adebayo  and  Hon Tunji  Ajulo Opin, the court without any ambiguity had voided Ajulo Opin’s  candidacy  who was unconsciously declared by INEC , the implications of this is that the APC did not field any lawful  candidate for the reps election.

Of importance to mention  also are the obvious malpractices  and open inducement  of voters through electronic transfer of money by agents of the ruling APC before and during the election  in order to induce the voters  in favour of the APC candidates.
