Defection: Ignore Media Reports, Gov Yusuf Didn’t Get The Go-ahead From Me-Kwankwaso

Former governor of Kano State, who is the National leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has asked Nigerians to ignore media reports claiming that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and other NNPP members who are planning to defect to APC have gotten the go-ahead from him.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Kwankwaso, who made the clarification in a statement issued by his media aide, Saifullahi Hassan on Tuesday, asserted that he remains fully committed to the ideals, vision, and principles of the NNPP.

‘The attention of the public has been drawn to a misleading report published by Premium Times, claiming that our revered national leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has endorsed or supported the alleged defection of the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, to the All Progressives Congress (APC). 

We wish to state unequivocally that this report is false, misleading, and entirely without factual basis.

Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, as the National Leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), remains fully committed to the ideals, vision, and principles of the party. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf was elected Governor of Kano State on the platform of the NNPP and remains a member of the party, with an obligation to uphold the mandate freely given to him by the people.

At no time did Senator Kwankwaso endorse, support, or express approval of any alleged move by Governor Yusuf to the APC. Any report suggesting otherwise is a deliberate misrepresentation of facts and should be treated with utmost skepticism.
