Defection: Rep Wole Oke Has Grandiose Dream Of His New Party, He’s ‘On His Own’-Osun Lawmakers

Two members of Osun State House of Assembly; Hon. Adewumi Adeyemi Irekandu and Hon. Kanmi Ajibola on Tuesday submitted that Rep Wole Oke has a grandiose dream of his new party, the APC, urging him to stop hoping that the ruling party, PDP, will be dislodged in the state in 2026.
In a joint statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Tuesday, the two state lawmakers from Oriade/Obokun federal constituency, noted that Rep Wole Oke, who left PDP for APC a few days ago, is on his own.

They asserted that political office holders in the federal constituency will not join Rep Wole Oke in defecting to APC.
‘As Honourable Members representing Obokun and Oriade State Constituencies in the Osun State House of Assembly, we owe our people the truth — especially in times when deliberate falsehoods are being peddled in the name of politics.
We have observed with concern the recent outbursts and fabrications by Hon. Oluwole Oke, the current Member representing Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, who has now parted ways with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). While we ordinarily would not dignify such a grandstanding with a response, we owe our constituents and the legacy of the PDP some clarifications.
Hon. Wole Oke may temporarily occupy the federal parliament seat — until the next electoral cycle — but he has clearly lost alignment with the spirit, structure, and will of this constituency. His exit from the PDP is his right, but his desperate attempt to drag others into it through wild assumptions and imagined endorsements is disingenuous.
As the current and legitimate representatives of this federal constituency at the state level, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to the PDP — a party still deeply rooted in the hearts of our people and steadily delivering under Governor Ademola Adeleke’s leadership.
Let no one be deceived: no council chairman, vice chairman, councilor, or political appointee from our respective constituencies is part of any ‘movement’ as falsely claimed. These are men and women committed to governance, not political theatre. The party structure remains intact and energised — not shaken.
Let it also be known that the people of Oriade and Obokun have moved on. The political space here is defined by service, not noise; by substance, not sentiment. We are prepared for the future — and we assure Hon. Wole Oke: when the time comes, the people will respond in the language democracy understands best — at the ballot.
The path forward is clear. And no amount of revisionist storytelling can change what the people already know’ the lawmakers added.
