Delta LG Bans Okada, Tricycle Riders From Wearing Face Masks
Commercial motorcycle and tricycle operators in Sapele Local Government, Delta State, have been banned from wearing face masks.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the local government issued the directive via a statement issued by the Secretary, Hon. Raymond Overah while noting that it is part of the efforts to maintain peace and order, and ensure an effective transportation management in the area.
The local government has also announced a new Operational guidelines for okada and tricycle riders.
‘The operation time for okada riders is now between 6:00 am and 8:00 pm daily. Every rider must wear a reflective vest with a clearly written Area Code Number.
Any okada rider found wearing face masks while on duty shall be arrested immediately.
For tricycle operators, they should operate between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. daily while no passenger shall enter any keke without a visible and valid VIO Number boldly displayed on the body and covers of keke must be properly tied, especially during rainfall’ the statement said.
The local government also noted that any okada or keke rider who gets arrested for violating the directives shall be detained for seven days.
