Easter: Kwara PDP Congratulates Christians As Saraki Makes ‘Ramadan Package’ Available To Muslim Clerics, Others

Kwara state  PDP has congratulated Christians on the occasion of the 2023 Easter celebration,  wishing ‘all Christians nationwide’ ‘a happy and safe Easter celebration’. 

The state  PDP Chairman ,  Rt Hon. Babatunde Muhammed  in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Monday  noted that in all situations,  faith in God must remain ‘unshaken’.

 ‘As we celebrate the ascension of Jesus Christ over immense suffering and death today, we should be reminded of the long suffering and perseverance of the saviour before his glorious ascension.

Nigerians and indeed Kwarans have persevered for long under various uncomfortable  and  unpleasant government policies, we should be assured that there is still hope of great times to come.

We all know that after a long dark night, light must surely come at dawn.

In all situations our faith in God remains unshaken, since Christ can overcome death, so can we overcome bad governance’ the statement said.

In another development, former Senate President, who is the Kwara state PDP leader, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki has begun the distribution of Ramadan package  to  Islamic scholars and other stakeholders in the state  .

His media aide, Mr Abdulganiyu Abdulkadir noted in a statement that  beneficiaries of the annual ‘Ramadan package’  include Imams and prominent Islamic scholars in the state.     

With the distribution of the food parcels underway, Saraki has urged all Muslims to take good advantage of the Holy month to move closer to Allah by engaging in activities that will purify and improve their spiritual lives.

He also appreciated the religious leaders for their sermons and counseling, especially for  asking Allah to give the country good leadership and make the society a better one.

Saraki, who is the Waziri Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate, called for more prayers for the country to achieve peaceful and harmonious coexistence among the citizens and residents while appreciating the religious leaders for their guidance and support.

He urged them to continue to provide necessary guidance and prayers as the nation strives to achieve development, unity, and prosperity.

Saraki , a one-time governor of Kwara state, had earlier  in a statement  issued on Sunday congratulated Christians in the country on the occasion of the 2023 Easter celebration while  urging prayers for Nigeria.

‘ I congratulate all Christians in Nigeria and across the world on the Easter Celebration, which marks the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the end of the Lenten period.

As Christians commemorate this significant occasion, which is a strong symbol of their faith, I encourage you all to pray for peace, security, sustainable development, and unity in our country.

This year, it is quite fortuitous that the Lenten period and the Muslim Ramadan fasting periods overlap. This serves as a reminder from God that we are all His creations — regardless of how we worship Him or the names we choose to address Him.

As you all celebrate today, I pray that Almighty God intervenes and heals our nation. May His protection be upon all members of our security forces fighting on the front lines to defend our country.
