Mrs. Ann Agom-Eze , who had sought to get nominated by the APC for the 2023 Ebonyi South senate election, has been expelled from the party.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned the party cited rebellious and unruly behaviour.
This was contained in a statement issued in Abakaliki on Sunday by the chairman of the party in the state, Stanley Okoro-Emegha.
A Federal High Court in Abakaliki had on 22 July, ordered a rerun of Ebonyi South APC senate primary election after one of the contenders, Austine Umahi, who is Governor Umahi’s younger brother, had announced that he was backing out of the senate race.
APC later conducted a fresh primary election on 31 July and had Governor Umahi announced as candidate nominated by the party.
It will be recalled that Governor Dave Umahi had sought to get the APC presidential nomination and had stood as a candidate in the presidential primary election held on June 8, 2022 at the Eagle Square, Abuja,
Former governor of Lagos state, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu however won the party’s presidential nomination.
Mr Okoro-Emegha said on Sunday that Mrs. Agom-Eze rebelliously lost her membership by violating APC Constitution, which prohibits any act of dishonesty capable of disparaging the party or its member(s).
He added that Mrs Agom-Eze had initially gotten expelled by the executives of APC in Umudomi Ward, Onicha Local Government area of the state.
‘The chairman of APC, Ebonyi South Zone, Mr Ernest Nwazi through a motion, expelled Agom-Eze from the party, citing rebellious and unruly behaviour.
The chairman stated also that she fundamentally violated some sections of the party’s Constitution.
Agom-Eze has recklessly disparaged herself by eating back her words in an effort to satisfy her paymasters.
Since her expulsion started from her ward, I cannot interfere with the decision because politics is a grassroots engagement.
We are well- schooled in her antics as she is being bankrolled by the opposition party’ he added-Team@orientactualmags.com
