Edo South Constituents Want Senator Neda Imasuen Recalled…Its 2nd Recall Petition In 1 Month

Edo South constituents submitted on Friday that they have lost confidence in their representative in the senate, Senator Neda Imasuen citing alleged corruption, abuse of office and betrayal of public trust.
They disclosed that they have formally activated a recall petition and also demanded the LP senator’s prosecution over the circumstances surrounding his alleged disbarment by the New York State Supreme Court in 2010.
‘Given the international nature of these allegations, INTERPOL’s cooperation is necessary to ensure a thorough, Independent and global investigation’ the constituents said.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that representatives of five, out of the seven local governments in the senatorial district who made their decision known during a press conference in Benin, added that they deserve credible, accountable and transparent leadership.
The representatives of the local governments include Kola Edokpayi (Oredo), Caesar Garrick (Ikpoba-Okha), Aghatise Raphael (Ovia South West), Ogbu David (Uhunwode), Okorie Kingsley (Ovia North East), and Hanson Orako (Egor).
They alleged that Imasuen, who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Ethics, Code of Conduct, and Public Petitions, has no constituency projects in his senatorial district, adding that he has distanced himself from the people.
They therefore issued a 14-day notice to the Independent National Electoral Commission, the Nigerian Senate and anti-graft agencies to take action on their petition.
Senator Imasuen, who has however dismissed the allegations, added that those who are promoting the recall petition were recently invited to Kogi State.
‘They are doing a hatchet job because they are being paid from Kogi. I don’t see why someone is being paid to throw stones at his father’s house’ Imasuen said.
