Eid-el-fitri: Prominent Figures Attend Eid Prayer At 3 Different Locations In Kano
The prolonged and bitter dissension among prominent political and traditional leaders in Kano State was on Friday displayed on ‘religious lane’ with influential people in the state attending eid prayer at three different locations in the state capital.
Recall that the traditional institutions in the state had gotten separated into opposing groups after Alhaji Lamido Sanusi returned to the throne in 2024 exactly after 4 years and 76 days.  He had earlier ascended the throne on June 8, 2014.
Recall also that in 2019, the House of Assembly had approved the creation of four additional emirate councils, bringing the number of First-Class Emirs in the state to five.
Apart from creating new emirate councils, Alhaji Muhammadu Lamido Sanusi, a former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, was also removed as Emir of Kano on March  9 ,2020 .
Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, who was then serving as Emir of Bichi , was appointed as the new Emir of Kano.
Recall also that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf had in January this year left NNPP for APC while the Deputy Governor had not only refused to follow suit but also declared his continued loyalty to Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
Some among the cabinet members also resigned from their positions to show loyalty to Kwankwaso.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II led the Eid prayer at Kofar Mata Eid Ground at about 8:00 a.m which was attended by top government officials including Governor Abba Yusuf, the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Faruq, and the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori while Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero attended Eid prayer at Nasarawa Palace which was presided over by Sheikh Kamaluddeen Albasa with dignitaries including Director-General of the National Productivity Centre, Baffa Babba Dan Agundi, and former Secretary to the State Government, Usman Alhaji in attendance.

Another important Eid prayer was held at a mosque along Miller Road which is the residence of the National Leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Alhaji Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Dignitaries who attended the eid prayer include the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Aminu Gwarzo and  former Commissioner for Science and Technology, Mr  Yusuf Kofar Mata
