Eid-li-Adha: Saraki Hosts Party Supporters, Women Groups In Ilorin

The Ilorin GRA residence of the President of the 8th Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, was a hive of activity on Tuesday as political associates, elders, leaders, women, and young people gathered there to celebrate eid-li-adha with the prominent politician.

A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that social activities commenced as early as 9:00am after news of Saraki’s decision to stay away from the Ilorin Durbar spread.
Recall that the Waziri Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate had earlier on Tuesday disclosed his decision to stay away from the 1445 AH Ilorin Emirate Durbar citing pressure from the Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq-led government.

At his Ilorin residence, party faithful, women groups in different colourful attires, and other well-wishers sang and danced to beats from the different drum groups.
They took turns to appreciate Saraki for standing by them always and ensuring that they had a joyous celebration.
Ahead of the Ileya festival, Saraki had gifted the people Sallah packages that included rams, cows, clothing materials, and other items.
Those who benefited include traditional rulers, religious leaders, party elders and leaders, women groups, and different associations.
An elated Saraki expressed happiness at seeing everyone who had come to celebrate with him and thanked them for the show of love and support.
He thanked the party faithful especially the women, who, he noted, had always stood by him against all odds.
‘They had always thought the support was because we were in government but we have continued to prove them wrong.
They even spread the rumour that we were spending public funds, but now that we’ve not been in government, can they still say the same?
Even as citizens, despite the worsening economic situation in the country, we have always been able to put together glamorous Eid celebrations. All thanks to Allah’ he said.
The State PDP Chairman , Hon Babatunde Mohammed congratulated the people of Kwara state for the peaceful and colourful celebration of the eid-li-adha.
He urged party loyalists to remain committed to the ideals of the PDP and not be intimidated by the coarseness of the ruling APC under Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
He also urged them to ‘get prepared for the forthcoming Local Government elections, scheduled to hold five years after the AbdulRazaq administration had come into being’.
The former Senate President was flanked by his wife, Barr. Toyin Saraki, all through.
Other dignitaries included former Speaker of the 8th Kwara state House of Assembly, Prof. Ali Ahmad, National Legal Adviser of the PDP, Kamaldeen Ajibade among others-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
