Eid-li-Fitri: Ramadan Served As Opportunity To Renew Faith In God, Nation’s Future-Unilorin VC

The Vice- Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has felicitated members of the Muslim community in the university and the generality of the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el -Fitri festival.

Professor Egbewole in a statement issued in Ilorin and made available to  Team@orientactualmags.com by the institution’s  Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kunle Akogun, noted that the last one month, which was evidently devoted to worship, charity and fraternity was a rare opportunity for Muslims to regain spiritual strength and the moral fortitude needed to withstand contemporary socioeconomic challenges.

The Vice- Chancellor, who is also the Secretary-General of the Association of West Africa Universities (AWAU), urged members of the Muslim community to ensure that they internalize all the fascinating lessons derived from observance of fasting during the month of Ramadan.

Professor Egbewole added that he also expected that members of the Muslim community in the university must have renewed their faith in Allah and the nation’s future noting that the series of ‘spiritual diets’ they have been fed with during the month of Ramadan were intended to rebuild them for personal greatness and collective glory.

The Vice- Chancellor specifically appealed to Muslims worldwide and their friends not to return to the path of perversion, which they had abandoned during the holy month, saying that those who return to one ungodly act or the other would not be regarded as being among those who truly obeyed Allah and joined others to fast during the month-long fasting period.

Speaking on the state and prospects of the nation’s most sought-after University, Prof. Egbewole thanked members of the institution’s community, particularly the staff and students, for the prevailing peace on the campus while noting that the harmonious situation reflects the level of maturity obtainable among them.

While urging students and staff of the University to sustain the existing peace on campus, Prof. Egbewole  added that his administration would continue to pursue programmes and policies that would sustain peaceful coexistence and industrial harmony–Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
