Eid Prayer: ‘Let’s Be Our Brother’s Keeper’, Kwara Govt Delegation Urges Muslims

A delegation of the Kwara State Government on Sunday joined the Muslim community to observe the eid prayer at the Ilorin eid praying ground.

The Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Solihu presided over the eid prayer.

‘We urge all Kwarans and Nigerians to imbibe the lessons of Ramadan in the intervening months. We should be our brother’s keeper, be peaceful in our conduct, and pray for peace and stability of Kwara State and Nigeria at large’ leader of the government delegation, who is also the Majority Leader of Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Abdulkadir Oba Magaji, told reporters at the eid praying ground.

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who usually  leads the delegation, is away in Saudi Arabia  for the Lesser Hajj.

Magaji called for continued support for the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration and the Governor AbdulRazaq administration, saying: ‘with your support, Mr. President and Mr Governor are going to lead us to the promised land’.

The eid prayer was attended by the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the state Traditional Council, Mai-Martaba, Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari. 

Also at the Eid praying ground were senior government officials; Khalifatul Adaby, Sheikh AbdulQodir Muhammad Kamaludeen; Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Kwara State University of Education, KWSUED, Prof. Shuaib Oba Abdulraheem; retired Justice Idris Haroon; APC Chieftain, Alhaji Yahya Seriki; Chairman, Ilorin South Local Government, Abdulhameed Nuhu Podo; his counterpart in Ilorin West LG,  Shehu Abdulrahman Ladan; Chairman, Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority, Hon. Lateef Gidado Alakawa; and Dr AbdulRazaq Funsho; among other dignitaries.

The Emir congratulated all the sons and daughters of the Emirate and the people of the state for the successful completion of the fasting period and a peaceful eid prayer.

He prayed for the safe return of Governor AbdulRazaq from the holy land and commended the administration’s giant strides and the commitment to peace.
