Ekiti Speaker, Funminiyi Afuye, Dies 3 Days After Emergence Of Kinswoman As Deputy Governor

Speaker of Ekiti state House of Assembly , Hon. Funminiyi Afuye, is dead.
Afuye, who died at 66, served as Commissioner for Information under former Governor Kayode Fayemi between 2010 and 2014.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned he suffered a heart attack on Wednesday and was quickly rushed to the Ekiti state Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti , where he breathed his last.
Afuye, a lawyer, who represents Ikere state Constituency 1, had given no one signs of imminent departure from the planet earth, there was actually no cause for concern as he was hale and hearty and had not only attended the Thanksgiving Service held in honour of the new governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, on Tuesday but had also presided over the plenary session held at state House of the Assembly later in the day.
.
He was a member of the state house of Assembly between 2007 and 2011 and he had returned there three years ago,
Many had looked forward to next year for a major political permutation cognizant that the new Deputy Governor, Chief Mrs. Monisade Christiana Afuye and the late Speaker Funminiyi Afuye are both indigenes of Ikere-Ekiti.
All these however belong to the past following the sad and shocking development recorded on Wednesday
