
Ekiti state University (EKSU) , Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti state, has been shut down sequel to the protest staged by students at the institution.

They had demanded a review of late registration fee and other fees introduced by the institution.
During the protest, the students blocked the main gate of the institution preventing both students and lecturers from entering or leaving the university.
Condemning the N5,000 late registration fee imposed on them by the management team, the students, who carried placards with various inscriptions including ‘review of late registration fee’, were demanding review of the late registration fee imposed on them by the school authority.
Earlier, the Vice -Chancellor of the university, Professor Edward Olanipekun, had on behalf of the university’s Senate, approved the suspension of academic activities for two weeks with effect from Monday.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned Mr. Bode Olofinmuagun, who is the Head, Directorate of Information and Corporate Affairs, in a statement asked all students at the university to vacate the campus premises immediately adding that they should not be seen within the campus premises for the next two weeks.
‘Parents and guardians are hereby advised to invite their wards home immediately.
Any student found wandering around the university premises does so at his or her own risk’ the statement noted.
Public Relations Officer of the Students Union Government, Dotun Ogunsanya, said it was worrisome that they do not enjoy any facility in the institution, as there have been power outages both within and outside the university premises for more than five years.
