Elebuibon To Nigerians:  Face Consequences Of Your Actions, Stop Blaming Esu For Your Misdeeds

Elebuibon To Nigerians:  Face Consequences Of Your Actions, Stop Blaming Esu For Your Misdeeds

A popular Ifa priest, Chief Ifayemi Elebuibon, has condemned the idea of people refusing to face the consequences of their actions and rather finding it very convenient to blame Esu for their misdeeds.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Chief Elebuibon said this during the peaceful rally held by the Concerned Isese Youth, Osun State chapter, and other traditional religion worshippers in Osogbo, Osun State, on Tuesday.

The rally called ‘Esu Is Not Satan Walk’ was organized to address misconceptions about the Esu deity and to commemorate the Esu Deity Day.

They converged on the Osogbo City Stadium , the rendezvous, from where they marched through major parts of the state capital, singing praises of Esu and talking about its virtues.

Esu Elegbara is a popular deity in Yoruba traditional religion and there have been gross misconceptions about its identity, while many people believe that it is the same as biblical Satan, others submitted that it is one of the divinities in Yoruba tradition.

Speaking at the rally, Chief  Elebuibon emphasized the need to correct public misconceptions about Esu, who is often wrongly associated with evil.

He described Esu as a deity that promotes discipline and justice, urging people to face the consequences of their actions rather than seeking to lay the blame at the door of Esu.

‘There is a lot of misinformation and misguided notions about Esu. We want the public to understand and embrace discipline, and to stop blaming Esu for their wrong actions.

When people steal or commit an offence, they shift the blame for it onto Esu.  but Esu, as a deity, has nothing to do with their wrongdoings. It is high time Nigerians stopped using Esu as a scapegoat for their actions’ he said.

The popular Ifa priest also emphasized the importance of ensuring  a peaceful coexistence of all faith urging Nigerians to avoid violence and inflammatory remarks.

‘We appeal to Nigerians to live peacefully and coexist harmoniously. We do not want violence in our society, and that is why we are making efforts like this. Let us desist from derogatory statements that could lead to crisis’ he added-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
