Environmental Violation: Restaurateur Defies Lagos Govt , Opens For Business … 2 Arrested
The police have arrested and taken into custody two managers at the Kingfisher, a restaurant in the Lekki area of Lagos state.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the owner of the restaurant had not only defied the Lagos state government by unsealing the eatery that had earlier been sealed off by the government, but also opened for business.
Governor Jide Sanwo-Olu’s Special Assistant on New Media, Jubril Gawat, who disclosed this on X, also posted pictures of the restaurant in question.
‘Commissioner for Environment, Tokunbo Wahab, and the General Manager of the Lagos state Environmental Protection Agency, Tunde Ajayi, discovered this on Sunday night during a routine compliance of sealed off facilities in the area.
The governor’s monitoring team provided security backup, and two managers were arrested at about 12:30 a.m. with the help of the CSO to the governor.
They will be taken to court today and face the maximum consequence of their actions’ he wrote on Monday.
Recall that the Lagos state Environmental Protection Agency had sealed off some entertainment centres in Lekki Phase 1 including Red Bar, Kingfisher, Sea Lounge, HOV Lounge, Circa, Bolivar, and Bay Lounge on Saturday citing repeated environmental violations-Team@orientactualmags.com
