Governor Nyesom Wike of River state has said former governor of Kaduna state, Alhaji Ahmed Makarfi calling him his friend came to him as a total surprise.
Wike also said it was better for former senator Ahmed Makarfi, a one-time PDP National Chairman , to focus attention on the 2023 general election and how he will ensure victory for the PDP in Kaduna state, instead of saying incorrect things about him.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned Wike, who said this during the inauguration of the sand-filled area and estate layout in Ogbum-Nu-Abali, Port Harcourt, which was done by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu state, added that each of the stakeholders in the PDP should ensure that the party records victory in their respective states.
‘This morning, I was watching Channels TV and I saw former national acting chairman of the PDP, Makarfi, and he said he is very close to me. I don’t know how close he is to me.
Somebody who is close to me, I don’t know when last we spoke. I have not spoken to him for the past five months.
So, if you’re close to somebody politically, there is no way in five months you would not have spoken to the person. Is it not?
‘Wike, you’re sabotaging other people’ he had said . I don’t know who says the other people have not. What I want to advise Makarfi is that he has a job to do; to make sure PDP wins in Kaduna state. That is your job, leave Wike alone.
Take it upon yourself that Kaduna becomes a PDP-controlled state. I don’t want to hear excuses of saying they rigged election or they didn’t rig election.
That is what I’ve told everybody. In Kano, make sure PDP wins. In Niger, make sure PDP wins, in Jigawa, make sure PDP wins. If you win, then see whether PDP wins here or not. It’s ‘operation deliver your state’. Don’t use anybody’s state to add up’ he said.
Governor Wike also advised Rivers state PDP members that had according to him joined politicians to receive defectors to the PDP in other states to return home and promote the party in the state.
Wike noted that the best way to show capacity to deliver votes for the party will be to deliver votes at the polling units, wards and the states.
‘It’s not about going to Abuja to gossip and say all kinds of things. Come home and mobilize, let us see the capacity you have.
It’s ‘operation deliver your poling unit’, operation deliver your ward, operation deliver your local government. That is what politics is all about’ he added- Team@orientactualmags.com
