Recall that in 2018, a 13-second nude video of Owoeye, had gone viral , in the video in question, the former Speaker was accosted by some people, who accused him of coming to their community to perform a certain ritual.
The police had later investigated the matter and discovered that the convicts had used the video clip to make Owoeye part with about N38 million before releasing it on the internet.
The prosecution team from the Ministry of Justice led by Mr. Moses Faremi, had called six witnesses and presented evidence including bank statements of the defendants.
Justice Ayo-Emmanuel noted that the convicts operated like a crime syndicate, subjecting their victims to hardship adding that they do not deserve leniency.
The judge, however acquitted one of the defendants, Ismaila Azeez of cyber stalking charges- Team@orientactualmags.com
