Kwara state PDP submitted on Monday that the state APC Chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi’s boasting about his party’s financial strength ahead of the 2023 general election has once again, proved its earlier assertions right.
‘Prince Fagbemi had asserted that the APC government led by Mal. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq will go all out to outspend the opposition, including emptying the kwara state government treasury if need be, to win the upcoming elections.
Prince Sunday Fagbemi was seen in a viral video saying this while addressing party members during the mini rally held by the APC in Obbo-Aiyegunle , Ekiti Local Government , Kwara state, last week.
He was clearly heard saying in Yoruba language which when roughly translated would mean;
‘We are in government, from top to bottom for Kwara state, we have enough access to government funds such that if PDP leaders want to spend like us, they will just go bankrupt’ the PDP submitted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by its state Publicity Secretary, Prince Tunji Morounfoye on Monday.
Kwara state PDP added that the assertions made by Prince Sunday Fagbemi have proved the opposition party right.
‘Mal. Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq administration has gotten close to ‘half a trillion naira’ in funds since 2019, but it has not been able to complete or inaugurate, a single landmark project. We have also witnessed pilfering of Government funds, ranging from One hundred and thirty eight million Naira (N138M) by a contractor Mr. Abass Abdulrazaq, purportedly to purchase electric Transformers. We have also been assaulted by various allegations of fraud and graft against the Kwara APC regime, according to various Non -Governmental organizations, like Elites Network for Sustainable Development (ENetSuD).
We at the PDP have been asking since 2021 that the Kwara state APC regime provide the list, locations and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) of over six hundred phantom schools renovated under the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), which had over fourteen Billion Naira (N14B) as project cost to no avail’ the statement submitted.
‘Kwarans already know that all the allegations of graft are pointing to the shameless statement made by the Kwara APC chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi in the viral video. We have all seen how the governor’s glossy and expensive re-election campaign billboards and posters are changed very regularly.
We will like to remind the errant Chairman of the Kwara APC that neither outspending the opposition, nor expensive, glossy campaign billboards, banners and posters will win elections for the Kwara state governor’ he added.
