FCT LG Elections: ‘Seemingly Intractable’ Intra Party Conflict In LP ‘Worrisome’… I’ll Support ADC Candidates-Senator Kingibe

One of the Labour Party big wigs, Senator Ireti Kingibe, has disclosed that she would be supporting the ADC candidates in the upcoming local government elections in the Federal Capital Territory instead of the candidates fielded by her party.

The senator, who represents Federal Capital Territory in the senate, also noted that the Labour Party is too fractured to win the 2027 general election.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Ireti Kingibe , who said this while appearing on Channels TV’s Political Paradigm programme on Tuesday, added that the intra party conflict in LP has made it impossible for the party to record national electoral success.

‘The Labour Party is in some sort of a quagmire. We are trying to put it together, but I do not see the Labour Party in the present way it is as a vehicle that can win any election. It’s been very fractured and broken.

We have local government elections coming… So, we needed a platform. The Labour Party would have been that platform, but it was broken. There are two factions of the Labour Party right now, of which I’m in one.

 I know the FCT can win, not on APC. So, ADC has credible candidates, and it is that platform we are going to use to show them’ she added.
