Former Rep Zakari Mohammed Formally Leaves PDP, Set To Join ADC

A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon Zakari Lafia Mohammed has ended his membership of the PDP.

Alhaji Zakari Mohammed, who represented Baruten/Kaiama federal constituency, Kwara State in the House of Representatives from 2011 to 2019, had also at different times served as head of Kwara United Football Club, Special Assistant on Sports, Commissioner for Sports and Commissioner for Energy during the Bukola Saraki administration.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Hon Zakari Mohammed in a letter sent to the chairman of the party in Gurei/Gwasoro Ward, which had the PDP chairmen at the local government, senatorial and state levels cc’d, and dated July 10, 2025, noted that he has left the party for ‘another platform’ that would be announced later.

The former federal lawmaker noted that he would be advancing his ‘political future’ in a new platform that would be announced soon.

One of his close associates, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Team@orientactualmags.com that Hon Zakari Mohammed would be joining the ADC.

Recall that ADC, a political party that is getting positioned as a significant political force in the country, was unveiled and presented as the party that will serve as a platform for those who have formed ‘opposition alliance’ against President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 General Election in Abuja, a few days ago.

ADC has Mallam Bolaji Abdulahi, a one-time Sports minister, former APC National Publicity Secretary, and a former commissioner in Kwara State as one of its national officials and the immediate past governor of the state, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed as one of its big wigs.-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
