Former Senator Ibrahim Oloriegbe Facilitates Empowerment Of 250 People In Kwara

A former senator, Dr. Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe, has, once again, facilitated an empowerment initiative that has provided a platform to improve the lives of more than 250 young people and women across Kwara State.

The event held on Saturday which was the second of its kind since he left public office, took place at the Bishop Smith LGEA School , Ilorin, the state capital.

Recall that Dr Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe, who represented Kwara Central between 2019 and 2023, was one of the lawmakers with the highest number of bills in the 9th senate. He had 11 bills passed by the senate while four of them were assented to by former president Muhammadu Buhari..

A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that the empowerment programme was made possible through the 2024 Capital Project of the National Directorate of Employment, with the beneficiaries going home with items that include Deep Freezers, Grinding Machines, and Sewing Machines.

Represented by his daughter, Barrister Hafsat Oloriegbe, Dr Ibrahim Yahaya  Oloriegbe reaffirmed his dedication to implementing measures that will enhance sustainable livelihoods and address social injustices affecting the people of the state.

‘This initiative was developed in response to the pressing economic challenges faced by our community. Despite not holding a public office, we have continued to receive numerous requests that highlight the significant need for initiatives aimed at boosting local economic development and promoting self-sufficiency.

Our commitment to improving the lives of our constituents extends beyond public office. It reflects our enduring aspiration to support initiatives that will remove obstacles to general wellness and foster financial independence. We however urge the beneficiaries to put the items to good use’ he said.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Alhaja Medinat Sayi and Mrs Victoria Arowolo expressed their gratitude to the former federal lawmaker for his poverty alleviation efforts, which they believe will assist the beneficiaries in achieving self-sufficiency. They extended their appreciation for his continued support  for vulnerable members of the community and offered prayers for his continued success.

The event was attended by Mr. Kudabo G.O, the State Coordinator of the National Directorate of Employment, Awelewa J.N., the agency’s Auditor, as well as party stakeholders and elder statesmen from Ilorin West local government-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
