Former Super Eagles coach, Chief Festus Adegboye Onigbinde, is dead.
He died on Monday at the age of 88.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that his death was announced in a statement issued on behalf of Onigbinde family on Monday by Mrs. Bolade Adesuyi.
‘With great gratitude to God for a life well spent, we announce the passing of this great man, a Modakeke High Chief, the first indigenous Nigerian Super Eagles football coach, father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, High Chief Festus Adegboye Onigbinde, who passed on to the great beyond a couple of minutes ago.
We thank God for the fulfilled life and your contributions to the Nigerian nation and the world as an unequalled football coach.
We pray that your soul will rest perfectly in the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Final funeral arrangements will be communicated later’ she submitted.
The late Modakeke High Chief was Nigeria’s first indigenous coach, he was in charge of the national football team between 1983 and 1984.
