Friday Prayer: 14 Die As Truck Plows Into Worshippers In Kano…Driver Flees

14 worshippers died after a truck plowed into the people at a mosque where the Friday prayer had just been held in Imama town, Kura Local Government, Kano state on Friday.
The driver of the truck that was coming from the Kaduna axis of the Kano-Kaduna expressway lost control and drove into the worshippers.
The truck has MKA 537XN, as its number plate.
Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kano state, Mr Ibrahim Abdullahi, in a statement issued by the spokesman for the sector , Abdullahi Labaran said the incident happened at about 1.50pm.
Team@orientactualmags learned that Janazah prayer had since been held for nine among those who lost their lives in the incident while those who sustained injuries are receiving treatment in the hospital.
The statement also noted that the driver of the trailer is currently at large.
‘Upon receiving the distress call, FRSC Kano state Command promptly dispatched personnel to the scene, alongside other security agencies, to initiate rescue operations and provide immediate medical assistance to the injured victims’ he submitted while restating FRSC’s commitment to road safety and urging all road users to adhere strictly to traffic regulations to prevent such avoidable tragedies.
